Urban Waste

The Lisbon City Council signed the partnership agreement with Altis Hotels, among others, Azad Lda, the Association of Hoteliers of Portugal, Turismo de Lisboa and the Sociedade Ponto Verde for the implementation of URBAN-WASTE. Two of the main objectives are to reduce 2.5% of total urban waste produced by tourists and increase the separation of recyclable materials by 40%.

It was at the Arroios Market that the National Final of the 29th Chef Cook of the Year contest was held, and for the first time live and open to the public.

The menu that Fernando Cardoso presented to the jury in the National Final was composed by Açorda of eggs, coriander and onions in tannery (entrance); Peas, bivalves and turbot (fish); Lamb, Seia cheese and roasted potatoes (meat); Dreams of pumpkin (dessert) and Caldeirada de cherne (traditional dish in pot / oven).

We congratulate Carlos Gonçalves, head chef of Corinthia Lisbon Hotel for 2nd place and Jorge Fernandes of Iberostar Lisboa, for 3rd place.

In the jury group were the chefs Alexandre Silva (restaurant LOCO), António Bóia (JnCquoi), Leonel Pereira (São Gabriel), Pedro Lemos (Pedro Lemos), Ricardo Costa (The Yeatman). In the honorary jury was the chief Orlando Esteves. The 29th Chef Cook of the Year competition is officially sponsored by Makro, Norge, Icel and Estrella Damm.

The Official Products are Brasmar (National Octupus), Bom Sucesso (Rice) and Lava (Pots and Trays). It is organized by Edições do Gosto and by Inter Magazine.

Santos Populares en Lisboa

On the 12th of June have dinner and watch the popular marches from the terrace of Restaurant Rossio.

The Popular Marches in Lisbon is a big party and Chef João Correia and his team have prepared this dinner with the typical flavour of Saint Anthony celebration for a genuine Lisbon evening. At the same time that you taste the best specialties you can see from the terrace the traditional parade of Popular Marches.

Presentation of the Valuable Program

On the 20th, Altis visited the APPT21 and made a donation corresponding to its partnership with Amb3E, managing entity of the Electron Network. 

This donation corresponds to the donation, of a monetary value, as a function of the kg of waste electrical and electronic equipment and lamps delivered to Amb3. Since March 2016, Altis hotels and their collaborators have managed to collect 6 620kg of waste for this project, which corresponds to the value of 620 € donated.

World Travel Awards 2017 | Oscar del Turismo

El pasado sábado, día 30 de Septiembre, tuvo lugar la ceremonia de entrega de los premios de la edición 2017 de los World Travel Awards en S. Petersburg, Rusia.
