Founded in the '70s by Fernando Martins and his son and daughter, Portugal’s Altis Hotel group is one of the largest hotel groups in Lisbon, shaping the personalized management of all their hotels, all located in the Portuguese capital.

The Altis Hotels Group's activity began with the opening of the Altis Grand Hotel in 1973, a five star hotel located on Rua Castilho and the foundation and inspiration for other projects. In 1994, the Group launched Altis Park Hotel, a 4-star contemporary styled project with 300 rooms located in the Encosta das Olaias development. Then came the Altis Suites in 1998, an apartment hotel located next to the Altis Grand Hotel. In February 2009, the Group launched a 5-star design hotel, Altis Belém Hotel & Spa in a unique location on the Tagus and in March 2010 the group opened Hotel Altis Avenida, a boutique hotel set on Lisbon’s iconic Praça dos Restauradores. In September 2010 the Group had more than one newcomer with the inauguration of the Altis Prime, a luxury apartment hotel. In 2019 the extension of the Altis Avenida Hotel to the entire building was completed with more 48 rooms, the Rossio Gastrobar and a panoramic sundeck.
The Altis Grand Hotel has been, since 1973, an icon of Lisbon and the stage of important events in many areas. more than 47 years later, the hotel is ready to remain a symbol of the hospitality in Lisbon and has changed the original denomination to ALTIS GRAND HOTEL, thus completing one of its largest renovations ever.
The Group currently owns 5 establishments each with their own unique and privileged locations totaling 765 beds.
